The crater is within Ngorongoro Conservation area, where other activities such as hiking safari and a cultural tour  to an authentic maasai homestead can be organized. Serengeti National Park, probably the best Wildlife Park in Africa is a massive area with huge herds and somewhere that gives you that feeling of wild Africa in all its enormity and magnificence. The less known  Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park in the south of Tanzania, offer a very varied and excellent safari experience, including boat safaris and walking safaris. They are quieter than the north and very beautiful parks.

Tanzania also boasts some really remote and rarely visited parks, but very worthy of a mention for anyone who fancies something really different. Katavi National Park, only attracts around 1000 Visitors a year and offers a stunning wildlife experience at the right time about (June to October).

The National Parks found in the northern part of the country, are in close proximity and you can choose to drive from one place to the next as opposed to fly. This gives will give you a feeling that feeling of a journey  and you will  get to see the landscape much more closely.

A Tanzania safari Holiday is almost always inextricably linked with gaining an insight into culture of  the people found in the culture. An inclusion of  cultural tour in Tanzania, will definitely enhance your overall safari experience. Tanzania and  Africa in general is not just about the wildlife and landscape,  the people (especially the indigenous tribes) are of course fundamental to what the countries are all about

Chimpanzee tracking safaris are also gaining popularity, you can see primates in Tanzania, which not everyone is aware of. If your interest is in tracking the chimpanzees, then visiting the  either Gombe or Mahale Mountain National park will be an incredible experience for you.

Why not combine a Tanzania safari with time on the beach afterwards ? You can either head for the mainland coast, or fly over to one of the Indian Ocean islands such as Zanzibar, Pemba, Mafia or Chole  beach holiday of a lifetime!
